THE Navotas City government on Saturday gathered residents, youth groups, and environmental advocates for “Walang Plastikan 2025,” a whole-day event aimed at reducing the use of single-use plastics.
Navotas holds anti-plastic drive
Held at the Navotas Convention Center, the event was organized in collaboration with the EcoWaste Coalition and Smöl Productions, Mayor John Rey Tiangco said.

Tiangco in his speech reminded his constituents of the impact of plastic waste on the city’s coastal ecosystem.
“This ‘Walang Plastikan 2025’ [event] is not just a concert or a fair, it is a challenge for all of us. It’s difficult to be plastic-free and zero waste but we can do it little by little,” Tiangco said.
He pointed to several initiatives already in place, including the 14 Juana Zero Waste Stores, which offer refill stations for essentials like vinegar, soy sauce, salt, and rice.
Encouraging residents to bring their own reusable containers, the stores make products cheaper while reducing waste., This news data comes from:http://phftkexb.aichuwei.com
The city has started enforcing a “No Plastic Friday” ordinance, which bans the use of plastic bags in businesses every Friday.
The mayor urged the residents to make small lifestyle adjustments, such as bringing eco-bags, using refillable bottles, and practicing waste segregation, to help reduce plastic pollution.
The Saturday event featured advocacy booths, and a concert with performers including Kiyo, Autotelic, Shortone, Space Moses, Sica, Supafly, Deny, Gat Putch, Much Love, Colt, and Omar Baliw, the city government said.
